Eid ul-Fitr 2024

Eid ul-Fitr 2024, a three-day festival, holds significant importance in Islam.  Muslims worldwide celebrate Eid ul-Fitr with compassion every year on the 1st of Shawwal, the 10th month of the lunar calendar. After spending the entire month of Ramadan fasting at the command of Allah (SWT), Eid ul-Fitr emerges as a day of celebration, marking the completion of a spiritual obligation. This auspicious day is a day of unity, joy, gratitude, and celebration.

Eid ul-Fitr 2024 is expected to be observed on Wednesday, 10th April 2024, in the UK, depending on the sighting of the moon.

The spirit of Eid ul-Fitr 2024 is deeply rooted in the principles of generosity and charity. On this occasion, Islam encourages Muslims to spread kindness, share their blessings with others, and give charity to fellow Muslim brothers and sisters in need. During the sacred month of Ramadan, Muslims actively engage in charity work. On Eid ul-Fitr, the emphasis on charity is even greater, with Muslims encouraged to donate Zakat Al-Fitr, a mandatory charity on the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr. This must be given to poor and needy people to ensure that everyone can participate in the festivities and experience the joy of Eid, regardless of their circumstances.

How To Celebrate Eid ul-Fitr 2024?

Eid-ul Fitr is celebrated with great compassion in the United Kingdom and around the world. People wake up early in the morning, take a shower, dress up in new and finest clothes, and apply attar (perfume derived from botanical and natural sources). Muslims then go to the mosque for a grand gathering to perform the Eid prayer, reciting Eid Takbeer along the way. It is recommended to take different routes when going to and from the mosque to home. It is obligatory to eat sweets or desserts before leaving for the Eid ul-Fitr prayer.

People also visit the graves of family members who have passed away and honor their memory by reciting verses from the Quran and offering prayers for their souls. After the Eid prayer, families and friends come together to exchange heartfelt Eid Mubarak greetings.

People partake in delicious feasts and distribute gifts among loved ones. Children eagerly awaits receiving gifts and money, tokens of generosity given by elders. People also decorate their homes with Eid-themed decorations, especially with Eid Mubarak banners.

Eid Takbeer For Eid ul-Fitr 2024

Eid Takbeer is also known as Takbeer-e-Tashreeq. It is Sunnah to recite Eid Takbeer on Eid ul-Fitr.

Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, there is no god but Allah. And Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest and to Allah belongs all praise.

Importance of Giving Sadaqah & Zakat on Eid Al Fitr 2024

As we celebrate Eid ul-Fitr 2024, let us not forget the true essence of this auspicious occasion. On the days of Eid ul-Fitr , the importance of Sadaqah and Zakat magnifies itself. Islam encourages Muslims to share Eid joys and blessings with those in need through their generous Sadaqah and Annual Zakat donation.

Through acts of charity and compassion, the spirit of Eid ul-Fitr 2024 will shine brightly, strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and sisterhood within the Muslim community and beyond.

Eid ul-Fitr 2024 a distant dream for many

While many celebrate Eid ul-Fitr 2024 with feasts, laughter, and family gatherings, the reality of some of our Muslim brothers and sisters across the world is nothing but a distant dream. Gathering for special feasts, collecting gifts and money from elders, dressing up in new clothes, and countless similar activities are associated with the celebration of Eid ul-Fitr. However, many muslims do not have the leverage to celebrate the simple pleasures of Eid.

Let's look on the lives of Muslims struggling this Eid ul-Fitr worldwide.

Eid ul-Fitr 2024 is the darkest Eid for Palestinian Muslims due to the ongoing war and long-lasting blockade. They do not have enough to eat and drink. Medical supplies are not sufficient. They do not have roofs on their heads as their homes were bombarded. Children, who should be playing and laughing, instead tremble in fear, their innocent eyes haunted by the horrors of war.

Current situation of African Muslims is another heartbreaking story, where Eid is just a reminder of the daily hardships, rather than a joyful event to celebrate. In countries like Sudan, Nigeria and Somalia, ongoing conflicts threaten the safety of Muslim communities.

In Pakistan, economic hardships, rising inflation and unemployment have pushed many families into the poverty. It makes it difficult for them to afford even the necessities. Due to this, Eid has become a bittersweet occasion for the families living in hand to mouth situation.

Countless Muslims worldwide are suffering through hardship even on the day of Eid ul-Fitr . Your charity can help us spread the joys of Eid with them.

How Can You Help on Eid ul-Fitr 2024?

Islamic lessons from Prophet Muhammad’s life (PBUH) teach us the great deed of charity on special occasions like Eid. Sharing with the needy ones is what makes Eid ul-Fitr a truly blessed event for all Muslim Umma.

With your Eid ul-Fitr donations, we can distribute food and new clothes to orphans, help our brothers and sisters in Gaza, and bring smiles and warmth to those in need. You can give an Eid gift to an orphan and we will send children new clothes, gifts of toys, and sweets with the donor’s name written on them.

You can also help us deliver Eid festivities to those in need by giving your annual Zakat, Fitrana, and Sadaqah. We urge the Muslim community around the world, especially UK Muslims, to remember less fortunate Muslims while celebrating Eid ul-Fitr 2024.

Let’s unite with passion on Eid ul-Fitr 2024 to make a lasting change in the lives of our Muslim brothers, sisters, and children.
